Popular beauty store chain to close 350 stores, two distribution centers
DENTON, Texas – A popular global beauty store chain with several locations in southern New England has announced that they will be closing hundreds of stores.
Sally Beauty Supply stores offer up to 7,000 products for hair color, hair care, nails, and skin care, but has seen a decrease of 2.8% in sales in the 4th quarter compared to the prior year.
The Company has announced that it is accelerating its store optimization plan, including the closure of approximately 350 stores with the majority closing in December 2022. Most of the store closings will be Sally Beauty locations in the U.S.
In addition, the Company will also be consolidating its supply chain by closing two small distribution centers in Oregon and Pennsylvania and transferring the volumes to larger distribution centers, effective in December 2022.
Sally Beauty has locations in Fall River, Swansea, North Dartmouth, New Bedford, Seekonk, and Newport.
The company did not release which locations will be closing.
