Police warn of Netflix e-mail scam
Police are warning the public to not be fooled by this Netflix scam going around.
An officer received this email phishing attempt. He was tipped off right away because he doesn’t have a Netflix account.
The officer put out this statement on Facebook:
“Criminals want you to click the links, so that you voluntarily give your personal identifying information away. It is very successful. Don’t put your guard down. Contact the source of the email by another method that you trust, to make sure your accounts are maintained. Don’t click the links. The links could also be a way to install malware on your computer. How many other things do you see in this pic that can be a clue that the email is a scam? Reply to share your answer(s?) Check out other tips from Netflix to keep you safe at this link https://help.netflix.com/en/node/65674 .”
