Police release name of victim in fatal crash on Route 1 in Wrentham
Police have released the identity of a driver that was killed in a crash on Route 1.
According to Wrentham Police, at approximately 3:53 a.m., Wrentham Police & Fire along with MSP, Foxborough, and Plainville PD, responded to Route 1 near High Rock Road for a two-vehicle crash.
Upon arrival, officers observed the two vehicles involved, a heavily damaged Ford Fusion and a tractor trailer truck.
The Ford Fusion was occupied by the operator, 25-year-old Kerri Coppinger, of Woonsocket RI. Coppinger was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the truck, identified as 32-year-old Alan Medina Baez, was uninjured, extremely shaken, and attempted to assist at the scene, according to police.
The preliminary investigation indicates the Ford Fusion was traveling south on Route 1 and drifted across the center line, striking the truck that was traveling north.
MSP Accident Reconstruction Unit responded and is continuing with their investigation.
No charges have been filed.
