Police release name of 28-year-old killed in fiery East Providence crash
Authorities have released the name of the victim who was killed in a fiery crash this past weekend.
East Providence Police responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash in the area of Veterans Memorial Parkway and Burgess Avenue shortly before 5:00 a.m. Sunday morning.
When officers arrived, they observed a sedan on its passenger side, fully engulfed in flames. East Providence Fire Department quickly extinguished the fire and observed one person inside the vehicle.
The operator, identified as 28-year-old Alexsander Rodriguez Santos of East Providence, was pronounced deceased on scene.
The East Providence Police Department Traffic Unit is investigating the crash. Investigators believe that speed is most likely a factor.
