A man was found deceased Saturday after being hit by a Massachusetts train.
According to police, Cohasset police received a call just before 12:15 p.m. from the MBTA reporting that a person was struck by a train just south of Cohasset Station. The victim, a man in his 50’s, was within the right of way, and was struck by an outbound train (headed towards Scituate).
Cohasset police detectives, along with Transit police detectives, and Troopers assigned to the Norfolk County DA’s office are investigating the fatal incident.
Lower King Street was closed for 3-hours. Passengers on the train were moved onto a MBTA bus and brought to stops south of Cohasset.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.
The name of the man was not released.
