Police looking for suspect that stole hundreds of dollars from customer of Bristol County Walgreens
Police are looking for the public’s help to catch an alleged thief.
According to Deputy Chief Timothy D. Cook, Jr., on Monday, at approximately 1:15 p.m., officers from the Attleboro Police Department responded to the Walgreen’s Pharmacy located at 196 Pleasant St. for an unarmed robbery.
Upon arrival, officers learned that while standing at the service counter, a customer placed several hundred-dollar bills onto the counter to count them out in order to complete a purchase.
A male suspect, that had been standing nearby, then swiped the bills from the counter, and ran out of the store while being pursued by the victim.
No one was injured in this incident, and no weapon was shown or mentioned by the suspect.
The male suspect was last seen running on foot behind the Cumberland Farms located at 220 Pleasant St., heading in the direction of the wooded area behind U-Haul (480 Pleasant St.).
Responding officers quickly established a perimeter, and an area search was conducted with negative results. Officers were assisted by a K9 unit from the North Attleborough Police Department.
The male suspect is described as a light-skinned Black male, approximately 20-30 years of age, with long dreadlocks. The suspect was wearing a blue shirt, light colored pants, and a black head-wrap.
The suspect was also accompanied by a white or Hispanic male with a dark beard, wearing a white Celtics jersey.
It is believed that both of these males may have arrived in a silver or gray Honda 4-door sedan.
This is an active and on-going investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Attleboro Police Department Detective Division at (509) 222-1212.
