Police looking for public’s help after two puppies thrown to the side resulting in death
The Randolph Police Department is currently investigating an incident of animal cruelty involving the abandonment of two approximately 11-week-old puppies which was believed to have taken place on or before Friday August 1st.
During the early evening hours, a passerby located one male and one female puppy along a pedestrian pathway between the Martin E. Young Elementary School and Barbara Road; thrown to the side by an unknown individual(s). This good Samaritan notified the Randolph Police Department, and the puppies were immediately transported to the Weymouth VCA for emergency care.
Unfortunately, shortly after arrival, it was determined that due to the extent of the condition of the male puppy, the most compassionate recourse was to provide him with a peaceful passing.
The Randolph Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying the individual(s) responsible for dumping these helpless dogs. The suspects are likely basement breeders of these mixed pups; possibly Shepard / hound mixes with a distinct black tail.
PD are asking anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area on or around the above date or anyone who may be aware of individuals breeding similar dogs to contact the department.
Additionally, while the dogs were abandoned within Randolph, the department is asking that those out of area share this information.
Individuals wishing to submit a tip can contact Detective Kevin Aldred at 781-963-1212 or can submit an anonymous tip by texting “Randolph” to 847411 or by downloading the Randolph PD application in the iTunes / Google Play Stores:
It should be noted that this puppy is not available for adoption at this time.
