Police looking for public’s help after dog left abandoned in Newport
Local police are looking for the public’s help after a dog was believed to be left abandoned.
In the early morning hours on Monday, Newport Police were alerted to the fact there was a dog left unattended and tied to a signpost in Braga Park near the Kay Street entrance.
This dog is presumed to have been abandoned and the Newport Police would be interested is speaking with the person responsible for leaving her there.
If anyone recognizes this animal and can assist police in locating / speaking with her owner or person responsible for leaving her, please contact Animal Control Officer at 401-847-1306 during normal business hours or their TIPS line at 401-846-2606 24hrs.
