Police issue update on fatal vehicle versus pedestrian crash on Route 1
A pedestrian has been struck and killed on a Massachusetts highway, police say.
According to police, Wrentham Police responded to a fatal pedestrian crash early Tuesday evening between Madison Street and Thurston Street on Route 1.
PD stated that some media reports incorrectly stated that the victim was struck by a snowplow that fled the scene.
The victim was struck by an SUV and the operator remained on scene and fully cooperated with police.

Police are investigating a report that a second vehicle, a pickup truck with a plow attachment that was not actively plowing, may have struck the victim a second time. That operator was also identified.
The victim’s name has not yet been released.
The scene had cleared by 9:00 p.m. and the incident is still under investigation.
