Police issue update after two-year-old rushed to trauma center after being bitten in the face by dog on Cape Cod
A young child was bitten by a dog Sunday afternoon on Cape Cod.
Just before 2:00 p.m., a call came into dispatch for a 2-year-old bitten in the face at a residence on East Hill Road in Wellfleet.
Police and fire responded to the scene and the child was transported to a Cape Cod airport and then transported by medical helicopter to a Boston hospital.
The child was reportedly bitten by a Pitbull mix dog at the residence.
The child’s injuries are not considered life threatening, and all parties are known to each other.
This incident is under investigation by the Wellfleet Police.
