Police investigating after pedestrian killed in Fall River collision

A person has died after an incident that took place just before 8:00 p.m. Tuesday in Fall River.

According to Lieutenant Matthew Mendes, members of the Patrol Bureau responded to a motor vehicle vs. pedestrian incident at the intersection of Plymouth Avenue and Nashua Street.

The Major Case Bureau, Crime Scene Unit, and Accident Reconstruction Team were promptly dispatched to the scene to assist in the investigation.

The pedestrian was transported to a nearby hospital with what appeared to be life-threatening injuries. Despite the efforts of medical staff, the victim tragically succumbed to their injuries.

According to scanner transmissions, the driver was evaluated and stayed at the scene.

This incident remains under active investigation.

Mendes stated that further details will be provided as they become available, and the department’s thoughts are with the victim’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
