Police located a tragic scene at a home in Rhode Island on Friday morning.

According to Police Chief Richard Ramsay, at approximately 10:30 a.m., officers responded to Cheyenne Trail for a wellbeing check on a resident who had not reported to work.

Officers found suspicious circumstances at the home and had to force entry into the house. Once inside they located four bodies in the home, all had suffered gunshot wounds, which appears to be their cause of death.

The West Greenwich Police are conducting a joint investigation with the Rhode Island State Police at this time. Ramsay stated that this is an isolated incident and there is no pending danger to the community.

The names of the victims have not yet been released.

Records show that the owner of the home is a woman in her 30s.

Ramsay said that he does not expect to have any further information on the incident until the State Medical Examiner Office has completed their investigation, which he expects to be early next week.
