Police in Massachusetts are warning the public concerning “drug dealer” scam
Police in Massachusetts are once again warning the public concerning a scam. This one in particular is a variation of the hostage scam.
According to police, today a Dighton resident received a call that their loved one was being held hostage by “drug dealers”. While on the call, the resident heard a scream in the background. The “hostage-takers” were demanding money.
The resident came to the Dighton Police Station to report the incident. The resident did call their loved one and they were in fact home safe.
Dighton Police stated that if a resident receives a call like to notify their department (508)669-6711. If not a Dighton resident, you can contact your local police department.
