Police, Fire, EMS respond to vehicle in pool at Massachusetts apartment complex
Massachusetts personnel responded to a call that you don’t see every day.
According to the Westfield Regional Dispatch Center, on Thursday afternoon, the Westfield Regional Dispatch Center received multiple calls reporting a vehicle in a swimming pool at an apartment complex on Southwick Road with the driver still inside the vehicle.
Multiple Police, Fire, and EMS units were dispatched to the area. Police were first on scene and found the vehicle in the pool with the operator trapped inside. Fortunately, the vehicle came to rest in the shallow end of the pool and was not fully submerged.
Fire units arrived shortly after and were able to extricate the patient and transport them to a local hospital.
Luckily, no other people were injured in the accident.
Interstate Towing responded with their heavy rescue units and removed the vehicle from the pool.
The pool will remain closed until it can be inspected and cleaned.
The crash is under investigation.
