Police, EMS, Fire, Massachusetts State Police respond to fatal motorcycle highway crash
NEWBURY — Chief Dave Evans reports that the Newbury Fire Department responded to a motorcycle crash on Interstate 95 on Wednesday morning.
At just after 7:00 a.m., Newbury Fire was dispatched to Interstate 95 in the area of Exit 81 for reports of a motorcycle crash.
While en route, responders observed that a motorcycle had crashed on the southbound side of the highway near Exit 83 and the Scotland Road overpass. The motorcycle appeared to be the only vehicle involved in the crash.
The motorcycle operator was treated on scene by Newbury Fire and Atlantic Ambulance Services before being transported to Anna Jacques Hospital.
According to multiple reports, the motorcyclist was later pronounced deceased.
Newbury Fire remained on scene to block off the highway and assist Massachusetts State Police.
Chief Evans thanked Atlantic Ambulance Services, Newbury Police, Massachusetts State Police, the State Department of Conservation and Recreation, and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation for their assistance.
