Police continue to investigate Plymouth County homicide of 43-year-old Anthony Leverone
BROCKTON – Massachusetts State Police Detectives and Abington Police continuing their active and ongoing investigation after a man was found dead in an Abington backyard, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz and Abington Police Chief John Bonney have announced.
On Friday just before 7:30 p.m., Abington Police received a call requesting that police perform a well-being check on the caller’s male relative living at 563 Plymouth Street. Upon arrival, Abington Police and emergency medical personnel located the male unresponsive in the backyard of the residence. Abington Fire personnel pronounced the male victim deceased on scene. He has been identified as 43-year-old Anthony Leverone.
Abington Police contacted the Massachusetts State Police Detectives Unit assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, to begin the investigation. Preliminarily, it appears that Leverone died of blunt force trauma injuries.
The state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
Leverone was being remembered as a good person and family members are asking for any details you may know.
