Police chief releases name of 93-year-old Rhode Island man killed in crash
The name of a Rhode Island man who died after crashing into a home this past weekend has been released.
According to Police Chief Mark Vieira at approximately 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, a Ford F-150 was traveling west on Greenville Avenue in Johnston when it veered off the roadway and struck a home at 816 Greenville Ave that includes Stamp Farms.
The 93-year-old driver, Angelo Calcagni of Greenville, appeared to have a “medical emergency” while driving the truck. He was transported to Rhode Island hospital where he was pronounced dead.
No other injuries were reported and the cause of Calcagni’s death has not been determined.
The building was deemed structurally sound after an inspection.
