Police break-up party involving several communities due to COVID-19 restrictions, one charged

Police are contacting health authorities after a decent sized party that took place in Massachusetts.

According to Chief Stephen McDonald, Duxbury Police were summoned to a disturbance on Federal Eagle Road at approximately 10:30 p.m. Thursday.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a house party with numerous teenagers, from several south shore communities, in attendance. The party was dispersed and 17 individuals were identified. It is believed that several other individuals were able to leave the area before being identified.

At least one intoxicated individual was taken by ambulance to an area hospital.

A resident of the home. Zackary Hamadeh, age 18, will be charged with furnishing alcohol to minors in connection with the incident.

The school department and health department have been notified and steps have been taken to notify the other affected towns, according to police.

McDonald states that further charges relating to violations of COVID-19 related gathering restrictions are also likely.

The police department is working closely with other agencies to ensure that all appropriate steps are being taken to minimize the risk to public safety and health as a result of the gathering.

Due to the ages of the other involved parties, authorities did not release their names and information.
