Police arrest Fall River man on drug and gun charges after shooting
A Fall River man has been charged after a weekend shooting.
According to Detective Sergeant Moses Pereira, on Saturday at approximately 1:00 a.m., units responded to the area of Alden Street and Dean Street after receiving reports of shots fired.
Upon arrival, witnesses in the area reported hearing two pops from the area of a local establishment. They also reported seeing a male wearing a construction style shirt leaving the area in a white SUV.
While making his way to the call for service, Officer Connor Levesque observed a white Nissan SUV turn onto Pleasant Street at a high rate of speed. Based on his observation, Officer Levesque initiated a traffic stop. As he was approaching the vehicle, officers investigating the shooting communicated the description of the vehicle and male who fled the area, which matched the vehicle Officer Levesque was approaching. Furthermore, the lone male occupant of the vehicle was wearing a construction style shirt.
As Officer Levesque ordered the operator to exit the vehicle, he observed a firearm magazine on the front passenger seat. The operator was removed from the vehicle and taken into custody without issue. Also located within the vehicle was a Glock handgun.
Pereira stated that 50-year-old Calvin Devoe of Fall River was arrested and charged with carrying a firearm without a license 2nd offense, possession of ammunition without an FID card subsequent offense, Possession of a class B drug subsequent offense, discharging a firearm within 500 ft. of a dwelling, speeding, and carrying a loaded firearm without a license to carry.

And this my friends is exactly the f*cking problem. ” was arrested and charged with carrying a firearm with a license SECOND F*CKING offense ” These moron politicians tout Massachusetts gun laws and among the best , When the reality is all you’re doing in punishing the law abiding citizens and letting people who break all these gun laws go free. This state is pathetic! The politicians & judges are inept

How it possible that this aging Hoodrat was in possession of a Glock 9mm automatic pistol when he has no License to Carry ? Not only was in possession of such a ‘weapon of war’ he was shooting it at 1 AM in public in the very residential area of Alden and Dean streets.
Notwithstanding the plethora of Massachusetts common-sense gun laws …. Hoodrats young and old always seem to be in possession of an unlicensed, illegal ‘weapon of war’ and enjoy shooting them at fellow Hoodrats or anyone else they target. Hopefully, more common-sense gun laws are being developed in the legislature to solve this problem of only a particular segment of Society always in possession of illegal and unlicensed firearms

Let’s hope Calvin gets at least 10 years. By the looks of him that’s pretty much a death sentence.
