What could have been a tragedy ended with a positive outcome thanks to responders braving icy waters on Monday.
According to both departments, at approximately 12:00 p.m., the Douglas Fire and Police Departments received an emergency call for the report of two dogs through the ice on Bad Luck Pond.
Both departments combined to successfully rescued two very friendly dogs who seemingly had escaped from their enclosure.
