Police: 2-year-old boy found unresponsive in Rhode Island swimming pool
Tragedy struck on Friday evening after a young child was found unresponsive.
According to Sergeant Graham MacCoy and Chief Rick Heise, just before 7:30 p.m., members of the Coventry Police Department, Anthony Fire Department, and Central Coventry Fire Department responded to a Coventry home for an unresponsive juvenile.
Upon arrival, police and fire personnel located a 2-year-old male, unresponsive in an above ground swimming pool. Fire personnel performed CPR and other resuscitating efforts.
The victim was then transported by rescue to Kent County Hospital in serious condition. He was later transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital for further treatment.
