Plymouth Police return from Florida with suspect accused of scamming Massachusetts victim of large sum of money

PLYMOUTH, MA – Members of the Plymouth Police Detective Division returned from Miami, Florida with a suspect wanted by the Plymouth Police Department for an incident that occurred in 2023, Omari Thompson a resident of North Miami Beach, Fl.

Thompson had claimed to be a representative of the victim’s Bank. During which time the victim transferred a large sum of money under a false pretense.

Plymouth Police Detective Pierce was able to identify Thompson as a suspect after obtaining several search warrants through the course of the investigation.

Thompson was booked at the Plymouth Police Department on the following charges:

– Larceny Over $1200 By False Pretense
– Identity Fraud
– Larceny Over $250 from a +60/Disabled

The Plymouth Police Department thanked Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz and the entire Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office for their commitment to bring justice to the citizens of Plymouth.
