Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office announces name of victim, additional details, concerning fatal highway crash
The name of the victim and additional details have been released concerning a weekend highway crash in Massachusetts.
According to Nathan Lederman, Communications Assistant at the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, at just after 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, Massachusetts State Police and officers with the Wareham Police Department responded to a single-car crash in the area of Route 25 in Wareham.
The sole occupant, the motor vehicle’s operator, was found inside the vehicle — a red Range Rover — which had been submerged in Mill Pond beneath the overpass of Route 25.
The driver was pronounced deceased on scene. He has been identified as 31-year-old Jovanye Miller of South Yarmouth.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner was contacted and accepted jurisdiction of the case.
Preliminarily, it appears that from tire marks found near the submerged vehicle, the Range Rover was traveling eastbound on Route 25 when it swerved off the road and ultimately came to rest in the pond.
No foul play is suspected in the incident.
