Plymouth County District Attorney: Man indicted for allegedly stabbing partner to death
Brockton – Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz announced today that a Brockton man has been indicted for the alleged murder of his partner by stabbing her to death.
A Plymouth County grand jury returned a single-count indictment charging Reynald Biamby, 44, with murder.
The incident unfolded at approximately 4:15 a.m. on July 1st, when Brockton Police responded to a 911 call at 341 Centre Street. Officers and emergency personnel discovered the body of 36-year-old Rose Lacroix of Mattapan. Biamby was found at the scene with injuries and was transported to a Boston hospital for treatment.
Brockton Police enlisted Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office to assist with the investigation. During a hospital interview, Biamby told investigators that he and Lacroix were engaged in a verbal argument that escalated when she stabbed him. He claimed they struggled over the knife before he ultimately used it to fatally stab her in the neck.
Following the investigation, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Biamby, who was taken into custody upon his release from the hospital. He is currently being held without bail and will be arraigned in Brockton Superior Court at a later date.
According to those who knew her, Lacroix worked at Elizabeth Seton Residence Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wellesley.
“Rose was a beloved member of our nursing team, whose compassion and care for others was evident in her work as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Her patients consistently complimented her kindness, noting the attention she paid to their comfort, dignity, and safety.”
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Jessica Croker, with the investigation conducted jointly by Massachusetts State Police troopers assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and Brockton Police.
