Plane crash in southeastern Massachusetts kills one, another suffering life-threatening injuries
One person has died after a plane crash in southeastern Massachusetts.
According to Massachusetts State Police, 83-year-old Carl Willis of Falmouth was pronounced dead after the Falmouth Fire Rescue Department along with Falmouth Police Department responded to an airplane crash at the Falmouth Airpark on Friday.
Willis was the pilot and the plane’s passenger, 70-year-old Candace Oldham, suffered life-threatening injuries.
According to WCVB, State Police stated the pair were returning from Westfield-Barnes Regional Airport after a day trip.
“Because of the fuselage, and the significant amount of metal and you know, debris that was wrapped around the individuals, it took a little bit of time to try (to) at least get most of the debris and metal away from them,” according to Falmouth Fire Chief Timothy Smith.
The crash is under investigation.
