Plainville, North Attleboro, Wrentham, Foxboro, Mansfield and Franklin respond to 5 vehicle crash that injured 7 including 4 children

PLAINVILLE — Acting Chief Robert Skinner reports that the Plainville Fire Department responded to a serious multi-vehicle crash on Route 1 Saturday night.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., Plainville Fire received notification about a crash on Route 1 near Route 495.

Upon arrival, paramedics came upon a five-vehicle crash with several people who were injured.

A total of seven ambulances from the Plainville, North Attleboro, Wrentham, Foxboro, Mansfield and Franklin fire departments, were called to the scene to assist in treating those who were injured and transporting them to area hospitals.

One juvenile child patient with critical injuries was taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. Three adult patients were taken to the Trauma Center at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence with serious injuries. Three additional juvenile children were transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence with injuries. The status of the patients’ injuries is unknown at this time.

Massachusetts State Police responded to the scene and are investigating. The Plainville Police Department and Wrentham Police Department also responded to provide assistance.

Acting Chief Skinner would like to thank all of those who quickly responded to the scene and assisted on the call.
