Pirate festival coming to new location in southeastern Massachusetts
It will be yo ho, ho, and a barrel of fun when the Cape Cod Pirate Festival comes to Joshua Sears Memorial Field on Route 28 in West Yarmouth on the weekends of June 1 and 2 and June 8 and 9, from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day.
Presented by New Latitude Event Solutions, this fourth annual event of two roguish weekends will feature entertainment, swashbuckling adventures, rollicking music, crafts, axe and knife throwing, beverage tastings, open mic opportunities and much more.
Additionally, every day features a specific theme. June 1 is “Yaaaarmouth Day,” in which Yarmouth residents receive half-off the adult admission prices. On June 2, attendees are encouraged to “Dress Like a Pirate” – the best dressed will be recognized with costume contest prizes. The following weekend features “Pirates in the Skye” on June 8, where air pirates, time travelers, explorers and mad scientists get merry alongside present-day pirates for a whimsical weekend of interdimensional piracy. The festival wraps up on June 9 during which the pirates will be joined by “Merfolk, Faeries, and Fantasies.”
And forget the hardtack and grog of yore, the 2024 Cape Cod Pirate Festival will feature a variety of food and drink to satisfy every attending buccaneer – and their matey!
“We’re thrilled to be celebrating our fourth year of the Cape Cod Pirate Festival, and very excited to be bringing this event to Yarmouth,” said Christopher Schultz, owner of New Latitude Event Solutions. “This is a perfect event – people who attend have an amazing time, and we provide a major positive economic impact to the region. We can’t wait for June!”
