“Pierce” the goose not out of the woods, but health is improving
Cape Wildlife Center has issued a new update on the goose who was found at Cook Pond in Fall River with an arrow through his body.
It has been almost three weeks since “Pierce” the goose was admitted to their facility. According to the center, he has a good appetite and has finished his first round of treatment to bring down the level of lead in his body, however he still becomes weak very easily.
The wound in the muscle is healed enough that he can now enjoy some swim time, but they are still limiting his overall activity as they wait for the keel bone to stabilize.
As he continues to improve they will be able to taper his pain medications and antibiotics.
