Pets rescued, unaccounted for, as Fall River firefighters battle multi-alarm residential fire

The Fall River Fire Department battled heavy flames on Monday afternoon.
At just before 2:45 p.m., a call came in for fire showing at 386 Locust Street.
Crews arrived to find heavy flames at the back of the 2 1/2 story residence.
According to the Fall River Firefighter Union, 8 off-shift firefighters were called to the scene to join 35 on-shift in battling the 2-alarm blaze.
Animal Control was called to the scene due to pets on the first floor. Some of the pets were yet to be accounted for.
No injuries to humans were reported.
According to property records, the 4,716 square foot multi-family home was built in 1883.
The fire is under investigation.
