Persistence pays off as it leads to big State Lottery prize on scratch ticket for Massachusetts man
While others who have the same virtue aren’t as lucky, persistence has finally paid off for a Massachusetts man as it has led him to a big State Lottery prize on a scratch ticket.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Tobin Maxwell of Fitchburg has won a $1,000 a week for life prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$1,000 a Week for Life” $5 instant ticket game.
Maxwell chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $800,000 (before taxes).
He’s been playing the game weekly since it was released in February.
The winning ticket was purchased at Cumberland Farms, 479 Electric Ave. in Fitchburg. The store will receive a $10,400 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
“$1,000 a Week for Life” has three grand prizes remaining.
