Pedestrian transported to New Bedford trauma center after being struck by vehicle

Firefighters responded to a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Saturday.

According to the Lakeville Fire Department, personnel responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on County Street, near Captain Bub’s Marine, at approximately 8:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, responders located an adult male on the side of the road with significant injuries. Although the injuries were serious, they are not believed to be life-threatening.

The patient received advanced life support care on scene and was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital, the nearest trauma center.

No other details were released.
