Pedestrian struck and killed in Attleboro after afternoon train crash

ATTLEBORO — The Attleboro Fire Department has responded to a fatal train crash involving a pedestrian.

On Tuesday, July 28, at about 2:50 p.m., Attleboro Fire responded to a report of a person struck by an Amtrak train at the South Main Street train station.

Upon arrival, firefighters located an individual who was struck by a train on the inbound side. The person was determined to be dead.

All tracks at the Attleboro Station are closed at this time due to the ongoing investigation.

Richard Sullivan told Fall River Reporter that the train was an Amtrak train.

We have also contacted Amtrak for an update.

The Amtrak Police Department, Transit Police, and Attleboro Police Detectives are on scene investigating.
