Pedestrian seriously injured in motor vehicle crash in East Bridgewater
EAST BRIDGEWATER — Police Chief Scott Allen and Fire Chief Timothy M. Harhen report that the East Bridgewater Police and Fire Departments responded last evening after a pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle.
According to John Guilfoil of Public Relations, rescuers responded at 8:37 p.m. to a location on Harvard Street. Upon arrival, they found a man in the roadway who had been struck by a vehicle. The victim, a 66-year-old Whitman resident, was taken to South Shore Hospital in Weymouth and was later transferred to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston with serious injuries.
The motorist, a 47-year-old West Bridgewater woman operating a 2017 Nissan Altima, remained at the scene.
The incident is under investigation by the East Bridgewater Police Department.
