The Pawtucket Police Department has learned that a third victim has died in the active shooter tragedy at the Dennis M. Lynch arena on February 16th that also claimed the life of the alleged gunman Robert Dorgan.

Pawtucket PD issued their condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of 75-year-old Gerald Dorgan who has succumbed to his injuries.

With the assistance of the Maine State Police and the FBI, search warrants were executed by Pawtucket Police last week at Robert Dorgan’s apartment and work locker in Bath, Maine, as well as his storage unit in Brunswick, Maine as part of the investigation.

Police seized an electronic device, various ammunition, firearm accessories, and personal identification documents from the apartment.

Police seized a Sawed-off shotgun, an AR-15 style rifle, a handgun frame, various ammunition, firearm accessories, and mail addressed to the suspect from the storage unit.

No items were seized from the work locker.

Shortly after the shooting, police identified a white van with a Maine license plate as Dorgan’s vehicle. Police searched the van and seized multiple items, which led them to identify Dorgan’s home address and the address of a storage unit in Maine. A Florida firearms carry permit was also recovered from Dorgan’s body. At this time, authorities are not aware of any Rhode Island concealed carry permit.

The US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives conducted a trace on the two handguns seized at Lynch Arena. The first firearm was a Glock 29 (10MM), purchased by Dorgan on 09/19/2021 in Jacksonville, Florida. The second firearm was a Sig Sauer P226 (.357), purchased by Dorgan on 07/13/2019 in West Warwick, Rhode Island.

The seized firearms and ammunition were sent to the Rhode Island Crime Laboratory for testing and for input into the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network system.
