Parts of Rhode Island and Massachusetts are expected to see storms, flooding, and strong winds.

According to the National Weather Service, a Coastal Flood Advisory will be in effect from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday in Massachusetts, (Southern Bristol MA and Southern Plymouth MA Counties) and in Rhode Island (Southeast Providence RI, Eastern Kent RI, Bristol RI, Washington RI and Newport RI Counties).

Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways (3.5 to 6.8 feet Mean Lower Low Water).

Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected.

If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood prone property.

A chance of showers, mainly after 5am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 57. South wind 9 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Monday

Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 3pm, then a chance of showers. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 67. Southeast wind 13 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 41 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Mostly clear, with a low around 47. West wind 7 to 11 mph.

Tuesday

Sunny, with a high near 64. West wind 7 to 10 mph.

Tuesday Night

A chance of showers, mainly after 2am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 52. South wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Wednesday

Showers, mainly before 4pm. High near 66. Southwest wind 7 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Wednesday Night

A chance of showers before 10pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 45. West wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
