Officials say that a Fall River high school has been damaged due to flooding.

According to an email sent by Superintendent of Schools, Tracy, Curley, upon the opening of the building this morning, it was discovered that three first-floor office spaces at Durfee had been flooded with water over the weekend.

At this time, the damage appears to have been caused by a hose that was inadvertently left running in a second-floor closet over the long weekend.

Much of the cleanup has been done in-house, but the District has secured Service Master to finish up the work.

Curley stated that more information regarding any damage beyond cleanup will be available in the next day or so.
