Owner of Massachusetts bakery clarifies stance after anti-ICE cookies results in death threats, harassment, daily sellouts of product
The owner of a Massachusetts bakery that we previously featured after receiving praise and trouble over cookies and a social media post has clarified her stance.
The Sweet Boutique in East Longmeadow took to social media a week ago and you can see why it received polarizing responses from the public.
The post left some cheering the bakery on while others saying that they will never purchase from the bakery again.
When someone asked “Why would you as a business choose to piss off 1/2 of your potential customers? Just curious what sense that makes.” the bakery responded with “I don’t want those customers.”
A post from Tuesday morning stated “imagine sending me death threats, threatening my family AND CHILDREN, and calling ME deranged… while I’m just over here baking cookies.”
The owner of the bakery took to social media again on Sunday clarifying her stance and highlighting what her and her employees have been dealing with.
“The amount of times we’ve been called anti-American, anti law enforcement, anti military, etc. (which is so far beyond the truth.) when really we are pro HUMANITY. Pro our kids going to school and not watching their friends disappear or fearing for their lives.
“It is SO hard to not respond to all of the comments saying I made this up for clout, I’m lying about the threats for attention, etc. We had a reporter harassing the baristas for over an HOUR yesterday trying to get an interview while we had a line to the road for 2+ hours. They said no MULTIPLE times, and yet…. BUT as women, we are unfortunately used to people not taking no for an answer. (AND SHE WAS A WOMAN.)
“I had a beautiful conversation with someone yesterday that had us both in tears, and had me emotional for the rest of the night. I was quietly going to let this blow over for safety reasons but the conversation made me realize something. I am a white American citizen. I have white privilege. If I’M getting these kinds of threats can you imagine what they’re going through? It is our RESPONSIBILITY to be the voice of people who can’t speak up for fear of their lives, their families, their employees. Is that un-American?
“I hope this situation allows other small businesses to feel comfortable speaking up about what they believe in. The woke=broke crowd is LOUD but they are small and they are WRONG. It truly has to be so exhausting to be so mean and miserable all the time.
“We will continue to be vocal. If you don’t agree with our message it is SO simple to just ignore us, unfollow us, etc.

“-Your favorite “stupid anti-american c*nt”
(someone make me a name tag at this point)”
The bakery continues to sell out daily since the post with customers outside the door.
