Owner of Fall River Dominican restaurant takes over Fall River Portuguese restaurant and bar

A Fall River restaurant and bar is changing hands.

Johan Macea of Swansea went in front of the Licensing Board on Tuesday to transfer the license from Modern Snack Bar at 343 Alden Street.

Modern Snack Bar specializes in Portuguese cuisine for dine-in or takeout.

Macea bought the property that also contains the eatery.

No changes to the restaurant are expected.

Hours of operation will be Monday to Wednesday 6:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m., Thursday 6:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m., Friday/Saturday 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m., and Sunday 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Macea has restaurant experience as he owns and operates Casa Ive Dominican Cuisine on Rhode Island Avenue. He will be spending approximately 35 hours a week at Modern.
