Owner of Fall River company looking to locate at former Sam’s Club location
The City of Fall River may have finally found a business to occupy a building that once housed a major retailer.
David Nguyen, President and Chief Executive Officer at U.S. Bedding, Inc is scheduled to go in front of the Fall River Zoning Board of Appeals on Thursday, October 15th for a variance request to use the former Sam’s Club property at 941 Grinnell Street as a manufacturing facility.
The 136,000+ square foot property is currently zoned B-L, Local Business District.
U.S. Bedding, currently at 451 Quarry Street, manufactures and supplies retailers, brands and institutions nationwide with bedding products which include latex, memory foam, and air mattresses, “knock down” box foundations, and specialty futons. The company also provides contract sewing services for bedding products.
The company currently operates in a 300,000 square foot facility that can produce over 1,500 mattress sets a day.
Nguyen heads the family-owned business that has been operating in Fall River since 2003.
We attempted to contact Nguyen and the Planning Board concerning the request, but have not yet received a response.
