One person injured, reportedly ejected, in rollover crash on Interstate 195
One person was injured after a serious motor vehicle collision on Tuesday near the Massachusetts and Rhode Island line.
At approximately 1:30 p.m., a crash with a vehicle rollover on Interstate 195 was reported by Rhode Island Department of Transportation.
The accident resulted in the left lane being blocked on I-195 Eastbound after Exit 2C (US 1A North to Rte. 114 North – Rumford/Pawtucket) in East Providence.
According to scanner transmissions, one person was ejected and transported to an area hospital.
A search of the brush was made for additional victims, but none were located.
Both Seekonk and East Providence Fire Departments responded to the scene and Barrington FD had personnel staging near the accident scene.
Just after 3:00 p.m., the incident was cleared, according to RIDOT.
