One of 4 Fall River men pleads not guilty in Superior Court to alleged role in murder of Fall River man
One of four Fall River men indicted in connection to the homicide of 23-year-old Diamonte Odom in Fall River was arraigned in Superior Court on Tuesday.
According to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn III, Quanif Johnson, was indicted on charges of Murder, Carrying a Loaded Illegal Firearm, and Carrying an Illegal Firearm. As a result of the ongoing investigation into the Odom Homicide, Johnson has also been indicted on charges of Trafficking Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class B Drug, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Unlawful Possession of a Machine Gun and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. Johnson has been in custody in Rhode Island on charges connected to another homicide case in that state which delayed his arraignment in Fall River.
Court records show that Johnson was held without bail with a pre-trial conference scheduled for June 2nd, 2026.
On May 13th, 2023, just before 10:45 p.m., Fall River Police responded to multiple 911 calls regarding shots fired in the area of 275 County Street. Upon arrival, first responders located Odom suffering from a gunshot wound to his face. He was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased during the early morning hours of May 14th.
Tajon Saxon was indicted on charges of Murder, Carrying a Loaded Illegal Firearm, and Carrying an Illegal Firearm. He was held without bail at arraignment on November 21st, 2024, and has an evidentiary hearing on suppression scheduled for June 5th, 2026.
Dioni Tavarez-Leonirio was indicted on a charge of Accessory to Murder-After the Fact. This defendant was arraigned on this charge in Fall River Superior Court on December 22nd, 2023, and bail was set at $5,000 cash. He has an evidentiary hearing on suppression scheduled for June 5th, 2026.
Devin Alves was indicted in connection to the ongoing homicide investigation on charges of Trafficking Fentanyl, Trafficking Cocaine and two counts of Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. This defendant was arraigned in Fall River Superior Court on January 3rd, 2024, and was held on $7,500 cash bail. He has a status review on June 5th, 2026.
