One held on bail, another without bail, after Fall River Police charge 3 when young child allegedly had access to unsecured firearms

Fall River Police charged three people after an incident at a city housing complex.

According to police, on Wednesday, members of the Fall River Police Department Patrol Bureau responded to Maple Gardens for a report of an individual in possession of a firearm. Upon arrival, officers detained the involved male, identified as 30-year-old Lesly Saintfar.

Officers determined that a physical altercation had taken place between 27-year-old Sharian Downs and 28-year-old Lucita Louis following a verbal argument. During the incident, Sharian deployed pepper spray toward Lucita. Witnesses further reported that Lesly pointed a black handgun at a witness during the altercation. It was confirmed that neither Lesly nor Lucita possessed a license to carry a firearm.

CAST detectives arrived on scene and assisted in obtaining a search warrant for the residence shared by Lesly and Lucita. During the search, officers and detectives located two firearms, multiple large-capacity magazines, and ammunition. A young child belonging to Lesly and Lucita was present in the home with unsecured firearms accessible, raising child endangerment concerns.

Lesly Saintfar was arrested and charged with:

• Possess Firearm Without FID Card (2 counts)

• Possess Large Capacity Firearm

• Assault with a Dangerous Weapon

• Reckless Endangerment of a Child

• Possess Ammunition Without FID Card

• Possess Large Capacity Feeding Device (2 counts)

• Store Improperly Large-Capacity Firearm Near Minor

• Store Improperly Firearm

Lucita Louis was arrested and charged with:

• Possess Firearm Without FID Card (2 counts)

• Possess Large Capacity Firearm

• Assault & Battery

• Reckless Endangerment of a Child

• Possess Ammunition Without FID Card

• Possess Large Capacity Feeding Device (2 counts)

• Store Improperly Large-Capacity Firearm Near Minor

• Store Improperly Firearm

Sharian Downs was summonsed on the following charges:

• Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon

• Assault and Battery

According to court records, at Thursday’s arraignment, Saintfar pled not guilty and was held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing.

Louis also pled not guilty and was being held on $10,000 bond/$1,000 cash bail.
