One held on bail, another held without bail, after Fall River Police arrested two on gun charges during memorial for homicide victim
Fall River Police arrested two men on multiple gun charges after an incident that took place over the weekend.
According to police, on Saturday, detectives assigned to CAST conducted surveillance in the area of 100 Rock Street in Fall River during a memorial for a prior homicide victim. Numerous individuals known to police, including some with prior firearms-related offenses, were observed in attendance.
Detectives had credible information that 22-year-old Richard Douchette was in possession of a firearm and was seen displaying behavioral characteristics consistent with being armed.
Detectives observed Douchette enter the front passenger seat of a vehicle operated by 20-year-old Alexandro Allen Pinto. Officers coordinated a motor vehicle stop, which was conducted without incident.
Both were removed from the vehicle and officers conducted a pat-frisk for weapons. During the frisk, a firearm was located. Both Douchette and Pinto were placed under arrest.
Richard Douchette was charged with Firearm, Carry Without License-2nd Offense, Firearm, Carry Without License Loaded-2nd Offense, Firearm, Possess Large Capacity, and Firearm Viol With 1 Prior Violent/drug Crime.
Alexandro Allen Pinto was charged with Firearm-Carry Without License, Firearm-Carry Without License Loaded, and Firearm-Possess Large Capacity.
According to court records, at Monday’s arraignment, Douchette pled not guilty and is being held on $100,000/$10,000 cash bail. A probable cause hearing was scheduled for April 16th.
Pinto also pled not guilty and was held without bail with a probable cause hearing set for May 13th.
