One Freetown man arrested, another expecting charges after investigation results in seizure of drugs, guns, cash
FREETOWN, MA – An investigation by local police has resulted in the arrest of one man and charges likely for another.
According to an announcement by Freetown Police, “this morning, members of the Freetown Police Department, with the assistance of the Southeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (SEMLEC) SWAT Team and SEMLEC Detectives, executed a search warrant at a residence on Chace Road in Freetown.
“A search of the property resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs, firearms, and other contraband. Arrested at the scene was 32-year-old Matthew Clark of Freetown. Clark is charged with Possession of a Class B Substance and Possession of a Class B Substance with Intent to Distribute.

“Also expected to face charges related to this investigation is 46-year-old Frederick Clark of Freetown, who was not present at the residence at the time of the search. The Freetown Police Department is currently seeking an arrest warrant for Frederick Clark. His anticipated charges include three counts of Possession of a Firearm without an FID Card, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card, and Receiving Stolen Property Under $1,200 (Subsequent Offense).
“This warrant service was the culmination of an in-depth investigation conducted by the Patrol and Detective Divisions of the Freetown Police Department.”
The operation caused a temporary disruption to traffic on Chace Road, however police say that at no time was there any threat to the safety of the public.
Matthew Clark was arraigned Monday in Fall River District Court where he pled not guilty and was released on personal recognizance. He has a pretrial hearing scheduled for October 20th.
