One dead, two others injured, in fatal early morning Rhode Island highway crash

Police are investigating a fiery weekend crash in Rhode Island that turned fatal.

On Sunday, a fatal crash occurred on Interstate 95 southbound near the Atwells Avenue exit (Exit 37A) in Providence.

According to the Rhode Island Department of Transportation and NBC 10, the incident involved a vehicle rollover and subsequent car fire.

One person died, and two others were injured.

The crash, reported around 3:09 a.m., blocked all travel lanes. The scene was cleared by 6:51 a.m.
