A woman was cited, and a man was seriously injured after a crash on Wednesday in Fall River.

According to Det. Sergeant Moses Pereira, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Units responded to the area of Plymouth Avenue and Winthrop Street in response to a collision between a Toyota Corolla and a Kawasaki motorcycle.

Through his investigation, Officer Jeffrey Louis discovered that the operator of the Toyota had stopped at the stop sign on Winthrop Street then attempted to cross the northbound side of Plymouth Avenue to turn south. Unfortunately, the operator did not see that the motorcycle was traveling north on Plymouth Avenue as she was attempting to do so.  A collision occurred between the Kawasaki and the Toyota.

Both occupants of the Toyota were transported to Charlton Memorial Hospital with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The motorcycle operator was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with significant injuries. His condition is unknown at this time

The operator of the Toyota, a 64-year-old, Fall River resident, was cited for failure to use care.
