Officials throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts reporting accidents with injuries due to slick roads
Officials in Massachusetts and Rhode Island are reporting multiple accidents sending people to the hospital due to slick roads.
The Newton Fire Department and the Wellesley Police Department have reported multiple crashes on Route 9 including one pileup of over a dozen vehicles.
In Rhode Island on Route 295 in Lincoln, a crash has been reported with serious injuries. Another collision was reported on Route 295 in the area of North Providence.
According to MassDOT, there were crashes this evening in Stockbridge at I-90 Eastbound with a tractor trailer crash into a guardrail and in Merrimac on I-495 Southbound which is closed due to a multi-vehicle crash involving a tractor trailer.
In Amesbury, there is a report of a vehicle into a home on Second Street.
Multiple crashes in Boxford have also been reported.
MassDOT states that they have 954 pieces of equipment deployed in storm operations. They ask drivers to give plows plenty of space, clean the snow off of your car before driving, and to drive slow.
