Officials say Plymouth County multi-vehicle crash claims the life of 86-year-old man

Police Chief Michael Jenkins and Fire Chief John Dzialo report that the East Bridgewater Police and Fire Departments responded Tuesday morning to a fatal motor vehicle crash.

At just before 7:00 a.m., the Holbrook Regional Emergency Communications Center received multiple 911 calls reporting a serious motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Plymouth and Bridge streets.

East Bridgewater Police and Fire responded and located a two-vehicle crash, each with a single occupant.

The driver of one vehicle, an 86-year-old East Bridgewater man, was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the second vehicle refused medical treatment.

Plymouth Street and Bridge Street were closed to traffic for a brief period on Tuesday morning while the scene was investigated.

The crash remains under investigation by the East Bridgewater Police Department, with assistance from Massachusetts State Police and State Police Detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.
