Officials release names of two Rhode Island men found dead in home engulfed in flames
Officials have released the names of two Rhode Island men that were found dead in a home full of flames.
According to police, on February 24, just before 2:45 a.m., members of the Cranston Fire and Police Departments responded to 35 Whitewood Drive, Cranston, for a report of a house fire.
Upon arrival responders found the single-family residence fully engulfed. When fire personnel made entry, they located two men deceased.
The State Medical Examiner has positively identified the individuals as 80-year-old Bruce Jeremiah and 86-year-old Andrew Jeremiah. The individuals are brothers who resided at the home.
Personnel from the Cranston Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit, State Fire Marshal’s Office, and Cranston Fire Department Fire Prevention continue to investigate the cause of the fire and the death of the occupants.
At this point in the investigation, authorities believe the fire appears to be accidental, and the deaths resulted from the fire, with no foul play suspected.
