Officials release name of 23-year-old shot to death in Bristol County homicide
Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the district attorney’s office, Homicide Unit prosecutors and local police are investigating a homicide that occurred earlier today.
According to Gregg Miliote of the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, The Southeastern Massachusetts Regional Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call today at 11:11 a.m. reporting a shooting at 42 West Church Street in Mansfield. When first responders arrived on scene, they located a deceased 23-year-old male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim’s name is Samuel P. Waters of Mansfield.
22-year-old facing charges after 23-year-old fatally shot in Bristol County
One individual is currently being detained in connection with the homicide, but has not yet been formally charged with a crime therefore the name has not been released yet.
There is no reason to believe the public is in any danger, according to Miliote.
